Village paths, forest tracks, gentle lakeside walks. No fitness requirement. Suitable for all ages including older travellers.

Suitable for: All abilities
Hill Walking
Rolling hills, Transylvanian ridges, foothills of the Fagaras. A good level of fitness. Regular walkers will be comfortable.
Elevation: 300–700m
Suitable for: Regular walkers
Mountain Hiking
Fagaras ridge, Piatra Craiului, Retezat peaks. Full mountain days with significant ascent. Strong fitness required.
Elevation: 700–1400m
Suitable for: Fit hikers
High Ridge Traverses
Multi-day Fagaras ridge, Moldoveanu summit (2544m), exposed paths. Technical ability and excellent fitness essential.
Elevation: 1000–2000m
Suitable for: Experienced mountaineers
Bear watching is a separate experience — available at all fitness levels. We use a professional wildlife hide at dusk. Evening experience, 2–3 hours. Can be added to any custom trip in the Carpathian region. 90% bear sighting rate.

Romania has four distinct seasons. Each is spectacular in its own way. The best time depends entirely on what you want to do.
